Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, of the United States Army, which fought in the European campaign in World War ll.) photographed together in England on c. 5 June 1944. Hale would be killed in action during the Normandy invasion on the 6 June 1944. This unit was the inspiration for the 1965 book and 1967 film The Dirty Dozen.
