No Perm Movement in Japan begins in June 1939 to concentrate on the ongoing war in China.
This no perm rule seems to be still alive at some schools and offices nationwide.
My discovery as an old man is that people are more conservative than I thought as a young man.

IJN Reserve Students System was a system to reserve excellent students for the navy prior to the army's draft since 1934.
They were given basic training for a year before registration as a reserve officer.

The 2nd man from the right seems to have changed from the army.
