Does anybody know any details about this particular a/c? Which command? Time frame (check the roundel). Is M311 # of the boat or # of the station etc. BTW this is the first time I see a RCAF-boat (have seen RAF-boats marked in the same style though).

Results of the IJN shelling of Midway's Sand Island on December 7th 1941, until today I was unaware that the IJN had assigned 2 Destroyers to "destroy" all the American A/C on the island to prevent a counterattack. Digging deeper I also learned that Dutch East Indies PBY was slightly damaged in the attack, and another Dutch PBY was destroyed in Ford Island Hangar during the attack on Pearl Harbor earlier in the day. Learned something today

Here's one of those amazing airplanes from the Art Deco-era that didn't make it too far, but is undoubtedly pleasing the eyes:

The names of all seven airplanes were: Frobisher, Faraday, Franklin, Falcon, Fortuna, Fingal, Fiona. They all are known as "Frobisher Class".
