I learned something today I had no Idea some of the WWI German Airship hangars were mounted on turntables. Pictured are from Nordholz near Cuxhaven around 1913

Ok I learned a 2nd thing today, I had no idea thar the USN repurposed the airship hangar in Lakehearst NJ into a giant training aid for practice of moving A/C around a hangar deck. It was in use up the the early 1980's. I was in the USN during that time and was unaware of this,

S.S. Panna Wodna - ex Kriegsmarine minesweeper M 295 type Minensuchboot 1940. She was launched in 1944 by the P. Lindenau shipyard in Memel (Klaipėda). Shortly before its completion she was sunk at the shipyard by Soviet bombers on October 14, 1944 during massive attacks on the port and city.
The M 295 wreck, resting on the seabed was captured by soviets on January 28, 1945. After being raised in 1945 an attempt was made to tow her to another harbour. However, due to hull leaks, it sank during the operation in the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk.
She was raised from the seabed again in 1946. After undergoing repairs and conversion it was commissioned into the Polish Navy under the name "Panna Wodna" (Mermaid). For many years, "Panna Wodna" operated as a coastal passenger vessel (owned by Żegluga Gdańska). It was withdrawn from service in May 1965 and subsequently transferred to the League for the Defense of the Country (LOK). The LOK used the ship as a training vessel (a hulk serving as a diver base). It was ultimately decommissioned and scrapped in 1980–1981 at the Gdańsk Ship Repair Yard.
