Great photos
That looks like a Bristol Lucifer engine and exhaust system to me.
It is a pity they did not fit axles stands under it to protect the tyres.

There's an even more interesting airplane behind. I think many people would be surprised to learn where it was actually built.
I can go and find it. I don't think I selected it when I went through the 200 plus photos. If you were referring to the 1930's Japanese long range mail plane then you were not alone in initially thinking that. The second cockpit in front of the DF loop ruled it out though. I cannot remember what its name was and that is bugging the heck out of me.
This is the second mockup ("technological replica" according to information from the Design Bureau - it is not quite clear what this means), which was manufactured in 1989 at the Tupolev Design Bureau Experimental Plant. And the first mockup was built in 1978 in Prenai, Lithuania at the Sport Aviation Factory for filming a biopic about Tupolev.ANT-25 if memory is correct. A replica, as no originals exist, unless we ever find the one lost in Alaska.
...and another 18 DB-1 bombers based on the ANT-25, of which 13 entered service. And an RDD airplane with an AN-1 diesel engine. And a BOK-1 airplane for high-altitude flights. As promised, here it is. Replica Tupolev ANT-25 'URSS N025'. The Tupolev ANT-25 was a record breaking long distance aeroplane, two of which were built in the mid 1930's.
The Koken made its first flight on May 25, 1937, it has nothing to do with the development of the ANT-25.If you were referring to the 1930's Japanese long range mail plane then you were not alone in initially thinking that. A more correct wording would be "Aeronca C looks similar to ANT-2" as ANT-2 is about 5 years older. The ANT-2 was created just to develop metal construction technology. The ANT-2 was powered by a Bristol Lucifer engine. The ANT-2 looks a lot like an Aeronca C-3. But the prop on the C-3 turns the right way.
