I believe the correct description of the Ki.45 ramming-units is Shinten Seikutai. This is what I have in my archive. AFAIK Shimbu Tai or Tokkotai were the kamikaze-units. Especially with Ki.45 the idea was, that the pilot will survive after attacking and ramming a B-29, which in fact was the case with many of those men.The JAAF ordered its Home Defense units to form sections which were to employ special tactics.
