I can personally attest to that.A little known fact is that the F-111B failed because it never had my redesigned cockpit air diffuser.
I'm confused, going to Jolly old England via San Diego seems a bit counterintuitive.Loading one of the missiles that I was the program manager for into a C-133. Most were carried to England in C-124 and had to fly all the way to San Diego to find a route that would enable them to get over the mountains.

Yeah I guess but still!!!!Unless it's Jolly Olde England AFB, in deepest Louisiana.
Well, someone was such a poor planner that they put THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS in a bad spot. They had to fly down to San Diego to get lined up with a course that would prevent them from having to climb very high with that load. I don't know where they refueled or how often, but one source says max range with max load is 1200 miles so maybe they first gassed up at, say, Davis Monthan AFB.I'm confused, going to Jolly old England via San Diego seems a bit counterintuitive.
Reminds me of a proctology appointment...just sayingLoading one of the missiles that I was the program manager for into a C-133. Most were carried to England in C-124 and had to fly all the way to San Diego to find a route that would enable them to get over the mountains.
