1983: The first all-female USAF transatlantic flight occurred on May 9, 1983, when an 18th Military Airlift Squadron crew flew a C-141B Starlifter from McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, to Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany.

And they only had to stop and ask for directions three times.

The Brits captured two or three in 1982. They were tested at the AAEE or Farnborough. Some were dismantled and the bits given away. I had an Astazou from one of them in my books.

Looks like a much larger drop tank than the earlier version.

Are those the ones that came through Scotland in 1948? They flew through Stornoway and came n the USS Sicily-the numbers look familiary though they had the earlier drop-tanks

IIRC only one was flight tested; many did however get taken back to the UK for assessment and donation to museums.

I saw one of these OV-1s at the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum on my tour in March, on static display of course. I'll post pics in my museum thread when I get to it.
