The F-107 was the competitor to the F-105. A friend of mine ended up with the YJ-75 engines for the F-107 and F-105 but after he died I guess the engines went to a scrapper.

I had heard that one private owner was actually trying to get a YF-107A back up and flying. The USAF heard and said, "NOPE!"
My friend with the YJ-75's passed away and I told the USAF Museum that they were going to be sold. I would have been willing to work out a trade deal but they seem to have stopped all that when a C-130 they had traded for a B-17 forest fire bomber ended up in Saddam's Iraq rather than fighting fires.
I had a very small 29 cent Aurora model kit of the F-107.
