The F-107 was the competitor to the F-105. A friend of mine ended up with the YJ-75 engines for the F-107 and F-105 but after he died I guess the engines went to a scrapper.
I had heard that one private owner was actually trying to get a YF-107A back up and flying. The USAF heard and said, "NOPE!"A friend of mine actually owned one of the aircraft!
