Is thee a camapign to cover France in Bleuet in time for July /August next year John?

Not to my knowledge. We do the 7th of May as well as the 11th of November.

Listen carefully and you can hear the Algerian War veterans cursing De Gaulle for punishing the Limousin for supporting the communist resistance by sending them off to Algeria. Allegedly...

Actually the only bleuet I have seen at all this year are in my 'garden'. Lots of poppies around and now going over.

Its not mentioned here overly much. Schools are planning trips to visit the battlefields and learn our history first hand.
I think this is a really good idea.
My daughter is off to Poland next week with her school trip to visit Poland and see the concentration camps.
Not the nicest place to go, but its all history and a new generation should know the horrors of WW2 so they do not get tempted to repeat them.

Amen John. That is why I always support the EU however badly it might be run.

My great grandparents were refugees from war, my grandfather fought all through WW1, my father all through WW2. That is more than 1 year in 10 of the 20th century.

I have never had to fight, nor has my son and I can walk from Portugal to Poland without meeting any customs posts, never mind armies.

I totally agree,if the EU keeps war at bay then its a good thing. The EuroZone troubles may come to bite us all in the arse though..

My family weren't refugees but, 3 out of 4 brothers were killed in WW1 and only 1 out of 2 brothers survived WW2 one being my my Dad who was in the 8th Army and a POW in Germany after being wounded at Mount Casino.

Like you my brother and our families have lived in peace and I really really hope that my children will be able to do the same along with all the other young Europeans.

Enough blood has been spilt.

I have sown over half a million field poppy seeds over my land and and in public parks.
I hope at least 75% will germinate in time for 2014.
