I got my Has 1/48 SH-3H today, didn't realize it's so big! This one is a project for me, GB #15 Carrier A/C, one of em I crewed in the early 60's HS-4.
And my Italeri 1/48 SH-60B is on it's way for my #14 GB Modern! A current HS-4 A/C. SH-60B is an ASW helo, HH-60H is for rescue and deployment work. HS-4 used to deliver Navy Seals.
AND, I just won a Has 1/72 Martin Marlin for me. I almost got run over by one in San Diego bay in the seaway at night turning on the bouy lights from a little dinghy! scared the crap outa me!
Most of my builds have a personal story. I think I am set for the next 5 years! No more on the horizon!
pffff that ain't nothin' compared to my 1/72nd Boeing Stratocruiser! it'd probably be about the same size, maybe a teeny bit smaller. but good score, man!
Er .. Rob, the wingspan of your 1/72nd scale 'cruiser will be around 23 inches, and narrow in chord.
The He111 in 1/32nd scale will have a span of over 27 inches, and a thick, wide chord, bulky wing. The fuselage will also be big and bulky, with a length of over 20 inches, and around four inches in diameter!
For a twin engined model, that's big, bulky, and probably heavy, even though it's plastic!
