Great grab Glenn. I built the A-20 years ago and don't recall any drama. Have one more in the stash...waiting for more info on the Navy version..BD-1. I bought the Mk.Vll a few years ago and the right fuselage was short shot at the wing fillet. ICM sent the entire sprue tree within two weeks. How do the p-51s look in the box?

I have a clear nose A-20 in my stash too but I figure I'll do this one up like the one on display at Wright-Patterson. I took a peek in one of the P-51 boxes and the surface detailing looks excellent, right up there with the ICM Spits. One thing that disappointed me was that the carb intake on top of the nose had straight sides, not bulged like was shown on the profile on the back of the box. some of the Allison engined Mustangs had a carb air bypass door in the top of this intake trunking making it wider and slight bulging when viewed from above. I have 2 of the Accurate Miniatures with the straight trunking, and now it looks like I have two from ICM. Maybe I'll make a whole squadron.

Yes they do although I've never seen in the boxes, Tamiya makes a very nice one, and there's always the old Monogram one.

Nice stuff guys.
The ICM Mustang is very nice - basically the same as the Tamiya kit with extra bits (some say it is the Tamiya kit, although it's not exactly the same in some areas). It's also quite a bit cheaper than the Tamiya kit.
It's the kit I used for the D-Day Stripes GB, as shown below.

I've never seen a Mustang in that color Terry. Was that an out of box build?. Just found the Navy version of the A-20, it's an -A version. Koster Aero Enterprises makes a conversion set for 24$(out of stock). A rather simple conversion consisting of: 18 vac/form parts, 14 cast metal parts, 25 resin parts, and 127 PE pieces .

Nice catch there Evan, and well done your friend.
Geo, the build of the Mustang is more or less out of the box, with the following exceptions:- some added internal detail, port rear window and camera port opened, scratch-built camera, added canopy runners and 'Malcolm' hood from the old Monogram kit (the ICM part is just a tad to small to fit properly over the fuselage spine in the open position). Decals from the spares box and home made. It was one of three photo-recce P-51s hurriedly pressed into service around D-Day, all finished in PRU Blue.
The kit includes the Macolm hood, and the original, framed hood, but the latter is in the closed position only, whereas Tamiya provide open and closed for this, but closed only for the Malcolm hood. There are also two styles of seat and exhausts, and lots of other 'extras'. A nice kit, also available, at a bargain price, with pilot and ground crew figures, as well as individual kits for USAAF and RAF versions.
