This was the ebay add and it stated open box +pe. $35 +$32 shipping I was surprized when I opened the box to see he had masked off all the clear bits(something I really suck at)so that was great, But look at the pics, and you tell me if I did not score big. Re: Corsair..... Well, to me even, them's a few shortcomings with the gun bays, wings and control surfaces.
On That auction site lowest is 117.00 US, and may be the limit of what it's worth then.
If they can have open gun bays on a 48th, Surely!!!!!!!!
I didn't use the guns from my 32nd Mustang!
Someone needs to come up with a white metal set for the wing folds. It would be pretty cool to have them just starting up to fold.

BTW.... the F4 Phantom. Who knew Dino Martin, son of Dean, died in an ANG F4 crash?
Very few of pictures exist of the Kangaroo marked F4's exist. I have only found the one in my above post!

The control surfaces are a non-issue to me because you can pose them however you want, and they come in separate pieces, you just have to glue them into position. Tamiya's rod and hook was better than Trumpeter's to be sure, but not perfect. The wings would certainly be nice to be swappable, that's for sure, but after building the Trumpeter which you could do that with strength was a major issue so I understand it, though I'm sure Tamiya could have done a better job. As for the gun bays, I completely agree, and am not sure why they left those out.

As for having the folds starting, I would imagine you could modify the struts to do that, though again strength may be an issue.

just bought these 3 again! working on the Piper Cherokee inspired me to buy these planes again, lol. the 172 is an "L" model, and I'm looking at converting it to an "N" model. as far as I can see, the only difference in terms of appearance is the landing lights.

Very nice Rob. I built the Piper a while ago. Quick build and tiny.

Geo

and inaccurate. the shape of the air inlets of the cowling are completely wrong, so's the nose gear boot. plus, the prop spinner is too large, and the prop blades are the wrong shape.

Good stuff Rob. Built a few of those in the past for Aero Club friends, with the required modifications of course. Careful though - the pilot of that Bonanza looks a bit dodgy !

Was considering getting the 150, and scratching a straight tail to make the "D" model, the version I learned to fly in. 40 degree mechanical flaps. Had electric flaps fail on me a couple of times. I'll pass on them.
