Never had that happen to me. Maybe because you are new and they feel you have to establish a history of paying. Anyway, here is what you do it that situation: Contact the seller directly and ask is they will list it as a "Buy it now" at the original price they where listing it at, or even a bit lower, so you can snatch it up. You will be amazed at what happens sometimes. Good luck!

I am now the father of a brand new baby Wellington Mk.1. She came to me this morning via e bay. I now hope she will be delivered to my niece by a week this Friday as she is coming home for a visit. If she does not have it by next week I won't see my baby till Christmas.

I have heard these Trumpeter kits work up real nice. Both the Mk.1 and the Mk.III I got the other night came to just over what I would have paid retail for just one of them here in canada. I am quite pleased.

I'm off to RAF Museum Cosford again on Friday, and will be photographing progress on the Wellington in the Conservation Centre there, so should have further detail shots, plus last year's pics, if you need them.

Was that Wellington salvaged from a wreck from the infamous Heilego Blight (spelt wrong) daylight raid? The reason I ask is because evidently from a show I saw last night, the father of British actress Mini Driver was a nose gunner on one of the planes that made it back and won some kind of medal for quickly putting out a fire and saving the aircraft, according to the pilot.

Excellent.

I really hope both kits are at my niece's by the time she comes for a visit next week. At over 600 pieces I expect a lengthy build time required and not getting her till Christmas may mean a lack of time to complete her during the Med. group build.

Once ( or if ) she gets started during the GB I may ask you to post what you feel would be helpful.

That's one heck of a compressor Bill - you could paint a C-5 Galaxy with that monster!

Jim, no, the Wellington is the one which has been on display at RAF Museum, Hendon, London for many years. It started life as a bomber, but was converted to a T.10 nav and radio trainer when in RAF service. If you've seen the classic movie 'The Dam Busters', then this is the aircraft used for the trials sequence (painted overall silver with yellow 'Trainer' bands, and no gun turrets), where Michael Redgrave, as Barnes Wallis, is seen dropping a test weapon.
It was in storage for some years, before having turrets re-fitted, and painted as a 'bomber', for display.
Here it is as it looked last year, in the Conservation Centre at Cosford.

Jeff, give me a shout when you're ready, and I'll dig out and e-mail some stuff on the Wellington in general, and the Cosford pics.
