The accessories for my Group Build Spitfire build arrived from Hannant's today.
The really superb 'Quickboost' resin cockpit door, to replace the one damaged when altering it, a pair of excellent, 'Master' turned brass 20mm cannon, and a stencils decal sheet from HGW.
The door is exceptionally well detailed, and the separate crowbar, fitted from early 1941, actually clips into the clips on the inner face of the door !
The cannons have open muzzles, and beautiful detail on the exposed section of the barrels, and should really improve the look of the finished model.
Although the stencil decals are intended for a MkIX Spit, the majority are relevant for a MkV also, and I'm really pleased that the stencils for the inside of the cockpit door are also included, in three different styles and two colours, so no excuse for getting it wrong on the model !

Thanks Evan.
'Master' turn out some wonderful stuff. I've got, and have also used, some of their 1/48th scale pitot tubes, to prevent plastic ones breaking, and they're very nicely done. I also have some of their RAF .303 Brownings, with cooling jacket, fins and flash suppressor, in both 1/48th and 1/32nd scales, and both examples are amazing.
Biggest problem about using the cannons on the Hasegawa Spit, will be removing the moulded kit parts. They're moulded as one piece, on the upper wing halves only, and are rebated about 2 or 3 mm on the inside of the wing, which is going to be a b*gg*r to remove without damaging the wing leading edges !
Probably best to cut off the barrels, tape the wing halves together, then drill-out the remainder of the plastic.
