I assume cast, but I will have to open if you really want to know.

Box label states 'Injection-moulded engines ..', so I'd presume plastic mouldings.

Oh darn I just noticed this. I went ahead and started on the Panzer II, as I am more find of the 38 so I wanted to try some stuff on the II first as a test bed. If there were an appropriate place for it here, I would show and tell.
