The 'Colourcoats' paints I ordered from Sovereign Hobbies arrived yesterday, left with a neighbour. These are the paints that used to be under the 'WEM' label (White Ensign Models), and all reports I've seen confirm their quality and accuracy - I believe Steve (Stona) uses this brand, and can confirm this. When WEM stopped trading, the brand was 'in limbo' for a while, but is now back and available, acquired by Sovereign.
This first trial batch I ordered are RAF WW2 colours, 2 of each of Dark Green, Dark Earth, Sky, and Medium Sea Grey, and one Ocean Grey, and I'm looking forward to trying them out on my current GB Spitfire Mk.VIII.
The range also covers other air forces, as well as armour and naval subjects, and there are sets available too, for example "RAF Day Fighter Scheme".
The second arrival is a resin 'Rotol' prop for the Revell 1/32nd scale Spitfire Mk.II (the kit part is modelled from an airworthy 'warbird', with a DH style prop, and is incorrect for a Mk.II), which I obtained, after searching, from Brian L Fawcett Models, who provided excellent, rapid service - ordered late on Thursday night, and arrived this morning !
I'm particularly pleased with the prop, as the only other alternative costs as much as the kit itself, whereas this example was a third of the price !
Anyone needing such a prop could do worse than get one of these, but note that it is listed in his production as a Hurricane (Spitfire type) Rotol prop, which, of course, looks the same, with the rounded, 'blunt' spinner.

AAaaannndd in the useless tool department we have this lovely bit of engineering, purchased for the princely sum of C $15.79 delivered via Ebay. A USB powered drill.
It does come well packaged mind you.
There are 2 different styles off chuck on offer, depending on whom it is purchased from, I chose the larger one which is similar to the pin vise, interestingly, while it is the same size externally, it is larger inside.
Given the speed it runs at it tends to collect a bit of plastic that needs to get removed after every hole
It's also a bit wobbly but no problem drilling holes.
I certainly won't use it to drill any precision holes, but it could be used as a sort of mini Dremel
It does come well packaged mind you.
