Andy, it's the same varnish I've been using for the last couple of years, after Karl suggested it.
My original 60 ml ( 2 fl.oz.) bottle is nearly empty (cost, from memory, around £3 to £4 ), so I got this 500 ml (16.9 fl.oz) for £12 - heck of an overall cost saving.
I've found it works wonderfully, just thinned a bit with tap water for airbrush use ( I believe Karl uses it 'neat', applied with a brush), and gives a nice, matt finish, with a very slight sheen. Less thinning will give a very flat, matt finish and it only needs a small amount of the varnish to cover a Mosquito sized model.,
So far, I haven't had any problems with it, and only wish I'd tried it years ago, and I keep meaning to try their gloss version too.
Yes i use that one as described !
It works well, like Terry says, matt with a slight sheen

A shed load of stuff has arrived for my Lotus and rally car builds, although I'm still waiting for a couple of small items, floating around somewhere in the mail system. including the Land Rover kit, which was apparently sent by "Royal Mail 24 hour" service, from a UK supplier, on Tuesday, but has still not shown up.
On the other hand, some accessories ordered from Germany were dispatched on Monday, and arrived this morning, via DHL.
The Lotus 7 is in addition to the one received last week, so that I can do both the Gold Leaf Team Lotus and JPS "fictional" versions, whilst the rest of the stuff includes resin wheels and tyres, seat harnesses, seats, various motorsport decals, instrument bezels, steering wheels, and bonnet latches, all mainly for the two rally Escorts.
Just need to get my hands to work now, so that I can get "stuck in" .............

I finally received the new Revell 1/24th scale Land Rover kit today, after being delayed in the mail for a week, but it was worth the wait.
Pics below show the "bare" body shell, and having owned a Series III short wheelbase "Landie" for ten years, I can confirm that every part of this, and all the other parts, are very accurate indeed, right down to the panel shapes inside the engine bay. Overall it's a beautiful, very detailed kit, with options for RHD or LHD, different seating styles, and a large roof rack.
I now need to find where I've packed away the conversion I did, to SWB from LWB, on the older ESCI / Italeri kit, reproducing my own vehicle in 1/24th scale, as it'll make a good partner for this new model.

Apologies for the "colour cast" in the pics, caused by the lighting - the plastic is actually a "primer grey" colour, not unlike RAF Medium Sea Grey..

Yep, it's nice overall Karl. The only thing I don't recognise fully is the engine, but the "109" had a different one to my "88". That said, the engine and engine bay are a model by themselves, with everything there that should be, including the rather clumsy ( but efficient) oil-bath air cleaner / filter, which I removed on mine, as I intended to fit a snorkel, for deep wading. Never got around to that, and ran with a "pancake" filter on the carb,
