Picked up the Aeromaster sheet with these markings on the weekend, going to do ZP X myself! after seeing some of those pics recently.

Very cool. Really looking forward to seeing both your models fellers. IMO ZP-X is the better looking of the two, with the fuselage band and all..

Good point, Matt!
Wayne/Heinz, there were basically four main wing types for the Spits; A,B,C and E. If you need info on the layout and panels, including armament alternatives, let me know. I have probably got plans/ diagrams for all versions, somewhere! There are differences, inasmuch as a particular wing could carry a different armament, for example, 1 x20mm, 1 x .50 cal, 2 x .303 per wing etc. It can get quite complex!
Terry.

Shortly I hope....just ordered the paint yesterday. Will put pics up of all the tools that I have, and you can tell me, if I'm missing something....
Still waiting for my Mosquito book as well.

G'day guys! Sorry, it's been 'long time no hear' from me...

The difference between the Vb and Vc Spits was mainly in the wings, but also in the engine (Merlin 48 or 49 I think instead of the Vb's 45) and standardisation of the large tropical nose filter. The Vc was the official 'tropical Spitfire', the production version of the tropicalised Vb, designed mainly for service in the Far East as far as I understand.

The Vc had the C-wing armament of two Hispano 20-mm cannon in the inboard position (the faired stub of the unfitted second cannons visible outboard of these), and 4 x .303 in. brownings in the outer wing (2 per wing). The upper cannon fairing was the long thin teardrop type of the Mk.VIIIc and some IXcs. I can't remember the exact form of the lower bulges offhand, sorry, but they are alot thinner than the Vb bulges.

Hope ya's are all well, things have been haywire here, hence the long silence... Hopefully things will get back on track shortly.

See yas! Evan
