Nice Lucky and eagle!

those mossies have really interested me Lucky

you've convinced me to model it sometime

:lol:

may have to make 2

gonna look into it a bit more,always wandered about what happened to these sorta services in te war

How'd the red cross get through? to like concentration camps like in "The Great Escape"?

Not sure about any specific books Jan, although there have been magazine articles, and inclusions in most books covering the 'Mossie'. I'm sure I've got something on VHS tape as well. There was a decal company doing 1/48th BOAC 'Mossie' decals a few years back, when the Tamiya kits first came out.
You might be able to find something about the actual service on the web somewhere, maybe under a history of BOAC, or something similar. They also used Hudsons, prior to the 'Mossies', which I guess must have been a tad more comfortable than lying on a 'stretcher' in the 'Mossie' bomb bay!

Yup...found the correct sets made by Liveries Unlimited in 1/48. This sheet is very closely based on the Norwegian research and has markings for two Mossies G-AGGF (ex RAF HJ720) and G-AGGC (ex RAF HJ680). Both are Mosquito FB.VI fighter bombers – disarmed of course! "Golf Charlie" was delivered to BOAC on the 16th of April 1943 and subsequently returned to the RAF in November 1944 after having flown some 114 round trips in BOAC service. "Golf Foxtrot" had a shorter life; being delivered on 24th April 1943 she crashed at Glenlee in Scotland after only having flown 4 round trips. The decals are Microscale quality it is said...

Thanks for the welcome back guys!

For Jan, there was a book written in the late 70s/ early 80s called 'Mosquito at war', by Ian Allen if I remember rightly.

Checked out my Squadron/ signal 'Spitfire in action' book over the weekend too, and apparently the Mk.Vc was developed to counter the threat in Malta, not the far east (the Mk.VIII was the far east version). The Vc had:

-a large under-nose fairing over the Vokes Multi-Vee filter for the carburettor intake;
-enlarged oil and radiator intakes for more effective cooling in tropical and desert climates;
-could take the Merlin 45, 46, 50, 50A, 55, or 56 engine (the F Mk.Va had a 45, F Mk.Vb a 45 or 46, and LF Vb a 45M, 50M, or 55M);
-a new 'c' wing fitted with four cannon or two cannon plus four MGs or eight MGs. A number of the Vc aircraft sent to Malta had four cannon wings, although the second (outer) pair of guns was invariably removed due to a shortage of ammunition on the island, and because two cannon were not only found to be adequate in combat, but also enabled the aircraft to climb faster. Four cannon Mk.Vs were subsequently used in action;
-the landing gear had 2 inches more forward rake on strengthened units, as tested on the Mk.III
