Region 2 DVD's

The region coding is contained on the DVD itself. The process of moving the content online, ripping, renders the region coding moot. So yes if someone has posted a video online it should play anywhere. Now if they just made an ISO image of the DVD however then the region coding will still be intact. There are DVD/BlueRay players available that will play any region code and they are quite inexpensive on eBay and Amazon.

Thank you very much Robert Porter. Could you suggest a particular DVD player? I also wonder if anyone has viewed the Japanese films (which are available in Europe) "The Admiral (Yamamoto)" and "The Eternal Zero"?

It truly rattle my tea cup when You Tube won't allow viewing such films in our region due to copyright nonsense! BLASTED! You can't purchase a DVD or BLUE RAY of these over here! What TOMMYROT!

YouTube is one of those hosting sites that does enforce region coding. They do it via the codec itself which is the software that allows the video to be displayed. There are a number of ways around this but to be honest posting it here could cause legal issues, however a good Google search about Region Bypass Codec's should help!
