Still a scary thought...
London and all western cities have huge property portfolios owned by Russian oligarchs, they only remain oligarchs by Putins patronage. One of the students at the university my wife works at is Russian, not only is he a top student but he also has a £40 million property portfolio in the UK. A good basis for a spy novel in a few years time.

Putin was a KGB colonel, and seems to be intent on slowly reconquering the countries that left when the USSR collapsed. He snagged parts of Georgia during the Bush administration and Crimea during Obama's. I suspect one of the 'stans will be next, or Lukashenko will have a fake referendum to rejoin Russia when Putin's pet billionaires give him enough money.
