Heres another long time project I'm just finishing up. Captured Spitfire, re-engined with a Diamler-Benz engine for tests. Another one of those, "I had to do one " projects. Kit is a 1/72 Italeri Spit with a nose fom an old Airfix Bf-109G.

Very sharp job Ed, that looks great. I remember reading something about this test but can't remember what book it was in.

Yep, test results are somewhere on the net IIRC.

Great job Ed! Plan to do the 'Messerspit' myself someday... own decals, or custom jobs?

Good choice using the Italeri kit too, saves a nose job atleast (Common mould for Mk.V/ Mk.IX versions - noses seperately supplied according to which version you buy).

BRAVO!! I've had this same build on my bench for the best part of two years now. I'm stuck on the decals part of the build.

    Cheers Ed!

Will try and find one of those sheets. Like Dirk, many of my custom projects are shelved for lack of markings.
