Not really any help to this particular topic I admit, but my mother used to work for the Short Aircraft Company in Rochester.

Nice info Paul.THX for sharing. Does the castle near the catchedral still exist there?

It certainly does. It was built around 1069 and rather dominates the skyline of Rochester. There's a particularly good pub not far away from it, but unfortunately not quite so old!
