Here's one from a guy who, according to your method of evaluation, with 538k subscribers and 286 videoes, is twise as productive and neasrly five times as brilliant as Greg. No need to thank me, only glad to point you toewards (an even greater) god.

Luckily I haven't watched very many of them (not being worthy, you see), but those I have are invariably let downs. Must be something wrong with my comprehension, too.

It is randomely chosen, but the title alone says it all. On the other hand, with those numbers he must be right?

Here is Greg's equivalent, of the aircraft:

I believe it would be on a completely different level.

There have been many comments here, you just dont accept them. From the start in his video No 6 about range deceit and treachery he describes a document by Hap Arnold as a "decree" which "prohibits the use of drop tanks". He then mentions the range of a P-47 in mid 1944 as if that is relevant and then says no one believed an escort fighter could work in 1942, well they were right, the P-47 wasnt in service, the Spitfire never could reach Germany and the P-38 wasnt being made in anything like the numbers needed and was wanted by everyone, Greg neatly side steps that issue That is the start of the video, chanting "bomber mafia" like a religious mantra he carries on with the same smoke and mirrors which is obviously wrong and malicious but gets clicks on Youtube. No one who understands the English language would read Hap Arnolds statement of May 1939 as a prohibition and few would call it a decree but the point will be argued to the end of time because the personal reputation of the man has to be destroyed at the start, it is part of the art of story telling. It was the first video of his I watched and will be the last.
It would not be very smart to disobey or purposely ignore a direct order from the CinC of the AAC.

Of course, if no one was taking the directive(the exact word used was "directs" not decreed) seriously, Arnold would not have needed to rescind it(February 1942) now would he?

How would they disobey it, it simply says we are not going to buy them for tactical fighters, you can develop them at your cost. Curtiss who it was written to were selling P-40s to the French and British in less than a year. Greg calls it a decree not a directive. Yes it was rescinded in 1942 when the USA was at war and its president had undertaken to take part in the combined bomber offensive. We have been through this before several times. It is not a decree prohibiting anything and in 1939 was irrelevant. The P-47 wasnt there when the US started operations from UK so the whole discussion is moot pointless cod history.

Because the school system sucks. Because parents don't take more of a role in their children's education.

What does any of that have to do with what I said though?
Math is not a popular subject for most people.

TikTok/Survivor/AGT is.

That is the content being watched in great numbers and with enthusiasm, but without any intelligence.

Those watching Greg's type of videos are much more enthusiastic and interested in their subject.

It is not an idle curiosity.

And it is not to be "cool".

The P47, as I have pointed out to you many times, could not accept tanks until late 1942 BECAUSE IT DID NOT HAVE THE PLUMBING FOR IT.

None of those factors mean they actually KNOW anything about the subject, though.
And how can you prove that you do?

You might but I have no way of knowing but likewise you have no ability to look down on those just because they like to watch his videos.

If the person giving the talk, lecture or video is credible and skilled at the job the audience doesnt have to have huge understanding. I watched a 1 hour documentary on the breaking of the Lorenz code, the guy explaining it did so with very little complicated maths and it was easy to follow, but since he was one of the guys involved at the time and actually sat in the same office as Bill Tutte who did a lot of it on masses of paper sheets, as a viewer I wasnt inclined to disbelieve anything he said.

It does not matter if it is popular. If it pertains to a cool subject such as high performance fighters they think its cool, and they listen to it thinking they understand it. We see it all the time in the Warbird community.

And how can you prove that you do?

I can show you my MSc in Aerospace Systems. I can show you my MA in History of Warfare. I can show you my 19-year military service record with all my positions from squadron level up to staff officer in ministry-level positions. I can also show you my published work which you're free to critique.

Next question?

And, for the record, I learn more from people on this site every day because we have aerospace engineers, warbird restorers and operators, pilots of multiple types, including a former F-15 driver as well as those who've flown warbirds, who know A LOT more than I do on a great many topics.

Remember the P-39 ground hog thread????

A at ease you stated "You might but I have no way of knowing but likewise you have no ability to look down on those just because they like to watch his videos."

I'm not looking down my nose at anyone who watches videos. YOU are the one who stated that Greg gets lots of "likes" and followers, and that means he must be providing good information. I was simply noting that "likes" and followers is not an indication of quality. Look at the Kardashians, for example.

When people on this forum like D Deleted member 68059 find glaring holes in Greg's videos, I'm inclined to think the videos aren't as good as they appear.

That is why you are at this forum

Greg would have a similar following.

Not everyone, of course, but it would seem enough.
