Dude...this is cool! No more contacts/glasses!!!!

Telescopic eye implant approved by the FDA -- Engadget

Also heard about a CCD device that hooks straight into the optic nerve, that's under testing right now, but has been successfully used on several people who were born blind...but can now see, with the device. Man...gotta love technology!

Same source (techno-geek extraordinaire brother-in-law) also said he read somewhere that they're working on a digital camera. I can imagine water parks and beaches are going to be VERY popular soon....glance now, ogle later!

Somehow, I can imagine Intelligence Agencies throughout the world starting to use this technology very soon... Being able to photograph something without a camera will make counter-spying though !

... And make framing somebody easier.

"We've got a picture of you in some disturbing position, mister."

"Eeeeeeeek ! How did she take that picture ?"

"I want $2,000,000 or that picture goes public."

Personally, my thought is that if this technology is out in the public eye (har har) now, its probably been in use for some time behind the scenes. I know that the CIA and military don't develop everything before it gets to the general population, but something like this, pretty much tailor-made for spying, has got to be in use already.
