"Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi said at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives on the 10th that he had protested through diplomatic channel to the remarks made by Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao. At a press conference on April 28, the ambassador, who assumed office in March, said regarding the situation in Taiwan, "It is extremely harmful to link China's purely domestic affairs with Japan's security. The Japanese people will be caught in the fire."
Hayashi is a well known pro-Chinese diplomat.
