While I Understand everything that Chris posted and fully understand that it is your bat, ball, and game and do appreciate what apparently went on in the past, I ask in all seriousness: Is it necessary to paint all political discussions with the same broad paint brush?
Could such discussions be allowed as long as the discussion remains civil? Treat transgressors on a case by case basis, say a two week suspension or the like?
I obviously don't know what is involved in being a monitor/administrator would something like the above be too difficult to monitor?
Part of the problem is simply the written word. One would thing that writing things down would clarify them but the majority of human communication is via non-verbal clues: tone of voice, facial expression, posture, etc. The popular expression "Drop Dead" can have many meanings beside the obvious when delivered verbally/in person but all those meanings are lost when written down.
Just asking....

Long answer: No.

Why because they won't remain civil. Certain people here already have a hard time not making ignorant snide comments about the "others". The ironic part is, they are just as bad as the "others".

It is not up for discussion.

If you want to go and talk politics, use one of the above mentioned links. You can slobber over the "Propoganda" you want.

mikewint mikewint , the 'no exeptions' policy makes it clear. There will be no discussion about if it is allowed or not, but it's just not allowed. This doesn't allow for a grey area where you (or anybody else) would argue it should not be closed while I think it should be.

DerAdlerIstGelandet DerAdlerIstGelandet I like the optimistic tone in the title of the thread :tearsofjoy:

One last thing...

We the moderators/admin all agree on this. No need for anyone to go behind my back, trying to get other moderators to change this.

Quite frankly, I find that pretty disrespectful to do that...
