Well done old chap, glad to hear your up and about again. Look forward to hearing about your own little "D-Day" adventure..................................................Can you trust Karl not to get you lost!

Vic, Karl wasn't a "Rupert" so we should be OK and besides, we'll have satnav, and I'll be navigating using "old school" methods (paper maps and Mk.1 eyeball) and a lifetimes experience of accurate map reading - I hope !!

Wojtek, it would be great if you were able to join us !

Wishing you the best old friend, and I hope the weather improves too.
It's sunny and 21C here, but forecast to rise to 27 to 30+ degrees over the next few days !!

Looking good Terry
My wife and I are finally planning to buy a new car after 15 years, so I've been busy converting our next oldest car, a 2002 Toyota Seinna minivan into a mini camper with solar power and just enough room for a bed with the equipment stored underneath, on top and in a hitch carrier. We hope to break it in going down to Arizona early next year when we both retire.

I'm finally back in Norfolk, after an extended delay due to vision and mobility problems !
I arrived on Saturday 28th June, and met up with Karl, who kindly traveled down to do all the "donkey work" in setting up the "Tin Tent" for this year's season.
This time, it's a newer caravan (Tin Tent Mk.III), much more "modern" with many good features, and looks virtually brand new.
The awning fits, but will need a bit of adjustment here and there once it's settled, but not a problem.

This will be a brief visit, just to get things sorted, and I'll be heading home in a day or two, but returning fairly soon, I hope.
So far, apart from a sudden thunderstorm yesterday, the weather has been great, if a tad rather hot and heavy at times ( average 39c/102f !!), so I haven't bothered travelling anywhere.
Over the first weekend, we started planning our location visits for our tour of Normandy during the first week of September, and of course that will be covered here in full at the time.

I will be back at the Tin Tent in a couple of weeks, and hopefully get "out and about", but meanwhile here's a pic of the "new" set up, and a shot of Field Marshall Rochford undertaking provisional planning for our D-Day tour. (note the 6th June 1944 map alongside a current map of Normandy).

That fat bastard needs to start exercising again !

That's a bummer, we could have got together and shared a beer or two......... OK, maybe a few more than two !
There'll be SitReps aplenty, with loads of pics too.

Thought No.1 - we're hoping to do the XXX Corps route from Belgium to Arnhem sometime next summer, if you fancy joining up with us ?
Thought No.2 - I see you're now in Cambridgshire. The Tin Tent is just outside Diss, Norfolk, just about an hours drive from, say ,Cambridge itself, if you ever fancy popping over for a "barby" and beers at a time when I'm there ?

Just got back home this evening, after a hot and tiring drive - the numbness in my right hand made driving rather uncomfortable, and needed much more concentration to avoid "wandering".
It's been very hot at the Tin Tent this past week, which was quite draining, so I heeded medical advice, and drank plenty of fluids - around three cases of Speckled Hen/Abbot Ale, and a couple of bottles of red wine !!

I'm hoping to get back to Norfolk within the next three weeks if possible, or certainly before the Normandy trip, depending on hospital appointments etc, and I'll up-date things then.
