The Travels of Tel's Tin Tent. (4 Viewers)

Thanks Evan, and yes, a Goliath ...... or maybe a mini-tank for use by very small German soldiers. Yeah, OK, I'm getting me coat now !!

Good shots Terry!

A few more of the WW2 vehicles, before moving on to a selection of other exhibits. There are many, many more (over 300) tanks and other vehicles on display at Bovington, from WW1 to the present day, but to show them all here would take up a lot of space, and is beyond the scope of this section of the thread.

Pic 1. Early WW2 French Char B. These saw service in Normandy with 21st Panzer Division, a unit that was equipped with numerous captured French vehicles, as well as PzKfw IVs.
Pic 2. Kettenkrad.
Pics 3 and 4. Daimler armoured car.
Pic 5. Jagdpanther.
Pics 6 and 7. Jagdtiger - a huge beast !
Pic 8. Hetzer.
Pics 9 and 10. The first and the last of British tanks - Mk.V Male from WW1, and the current Challenger 2.

I'll be back soon with a final round-up from the Tank Museum, Bovington, before commencing the first part of the Normandy tour itself.
(Note that Bovington should not be confused with Bovingdon, the latter being the site of a former WW2 USAAF airfield, near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, and the location for such movies as "633 Squadron" and "The War Lover").

The final selection of images from the Tank Museum, Bovington, UK.
I'll be back, probably tomorrow, with the first stage of our journey across the Channel to Normandy. I need to download some extra images from my 'phone to compliment the pics from my camera, and I'm hoping that whatever "glitch" affected the earlier downloads has now been rectified, and that the images transfer successfully, and in a usable size.

Pic 1. German Leopard 1.
Pic 2. Chieftain.
Pic 3. T-72.
Pic 4. Iraqi T-62, captured during the Gulf War.
Pic 5. Ferret in UN colours, with Max and Barbara providing scale.
Pic 6. Centurion Mk.3.
Pics 7 to 10. An impressive exhibit of a Centurion Mk.3, cut in half to show the interior. (try that with a Tamiya kit !!).

Back soon, watch this space .....................
