Missed us completely. The barren ground is getting freeze dried with the bit of snow we got before the holidays completely gone. Lakes are like skating rinks with 0 snow cover, but a good foot of ice.
Current temp 6F and clear.

Snowing here today, and it's around 4 inches deep so far (10cm). It's the "wet" stuff beneath the top layer, and getting to the local shop on my mobility scooter was a challenge - lost traction in the deeper parts, so had to drive on the road.
Got really p*ssed off when I eventually reached the shop, as it was closed !!
Temp forecast for tonight is -8C, so probably stuck due to ice tomorrow - b*ll*cks !!

Might make it above freezing today, but wouldn't bet on it. Supposed to start getting sleet and cloud crap tomorrow night thru Friday mid morning. Weather guessers are saying up to 6" possible near me, but with .1" or better of ice to go with it.....Ugh...Last time it did something like this, it took me 5 hours to get home from work and that was leaving at my lunch time. 5 hours to do 36 miles and had to do all of it by back roads due to massive problems on the interstate, even though it was 3 am.

Yesterday's snow has frozen solid, and the footpaths are a lethal mix of shiny ice and "washboard" surface. Currently -8C here, and parts of the UK are forecast to have -20C overnight.
In other words, it's f***ing cold !!

That is because all the politicians are out of town so there is not the usual massive volume of hot air from Parliament House.

In grade school outside recess was cancelled if temp was -20F. In high school, the wind chill needed to be below -20F.

I grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and lived there for 32 years, so believe me, Greg, I get where you are coming from. Wisconsin weather is nothing like that.

Windy and clear the past few days, with daytime temps in the mid-60's (about 15C).

Meanwhile, in Southern California, strong Santa Ana winds have returned and have created fire storms that are tearing through entire cities.
