Great news. The aircraft is also listed as participating in the D-Day air show at Duxford, along with four more 'Daks', plus the BBMF's example, on May 24th and 25th, so hopefully I'll get to see her.
I'd love to be able to get to see the para drop in Normandy !

Just had a USAF C-47 flyover me on approach to Baggington airport (Coventry). Full invasion stripes but couldn't make out any serials. Any chance it could have been this one?

Cheers Chris

Reading the story of UJD just sent shivers down my spine. Having an actual D-Day veteran aircraft participating in the 70th anniversary commemoration is simply amazing.

How many D-Day veteran Daks are there?

would be fitting to take some of the boys who made that original trip over there on the flight....but there probably arent too many of them still around sad to say.
