Great idea for improving the engine. I did one in resin for Me 262 a couple of builds back but still found scope for improving with scratch build bits.

This part of the kit was thinned and got some additions from scratch.

This part is completely self made because the kit rendition was too fantasized.

The intake cone which doubles as the housing for the "Riedel Anlasser" a small two stroke piston engine which starts the jet engine.
At the left is the kit part which is too short. I cut it off, added some length and amended the appropriate details for the "Anlasser". Because you don't see too much of the interior I left the fans of the kit part as they were.

The exhaust was short too. I lengthened the pipe and added new fins by laminating two plastic strips.

Plastic sheet was used again to get the double walled look of the outlet cover and to correct the little scoops for the cooling air which are solid on the kit.

How I do details:
This perforated plate for example to show how the details come into being from sheet:

The kits rendition of this reservoir was very poor. It's too thin and has few details. I constructed a new one from several layers of sheet.

This is an example how I did the wiring from copper/soldering wire and small brass screw nuts.

The weld seams are streched spruce.

Let's start painting:

The wired up engine. The difficulty was to guess the right mounting order of the wires.
