Last week, Drive in to Houston and Wednesday and pick up your laptop at 9 AM.. Get a call yesterday, come in at 10 for your lap top. Jump in the car and the check engine light is on again.drive in to the Houston office and arrived at 9:30. No wrecks is always a plus. It shows up at 9:58. Great I be done in an hour. It is now 1:22 pm. At least the music from the 80s ....zzzzzz

Today I was waiting at a red light, in the left turn lane, when I saw an ambulance approaching from behind. I was the only car at the intersection and deemed it unsafe to "move to the right" as that would put me broadside to the approaching ambulance. I stayed put in the turn lane expecting the ambulance to either pass to my right, or, pass to my left. But nooOOOoo! The idiot pulls in behind me and starts honking! I had to make a hairpin S turn to get my fat a$$ out of his way. Unbelievable!

Students were very irritating today. I had to yell several times and starting next week I promised extra mean-ness. The same thing with fifth grade too. I woke up at 3:50, so I am kinda crabby. MIL was sweet and bought me a birthday cake which was totally unexpected. Kids had cards and all gave me one. Quite touching.

It is like the the ambos union here. They and their members rightly complain about drivers who will not make way but the union refuses to allow the ambulances to be fitted with cameras so that the ill mannered can be prosecuted. The few ambos I know would love those cameras but the union says NO.

I guess that is protect the probably 0.001% of ambos who are like those you encountered.

Happy birthday young fella from this ancient.

May you have many more.

Kind of like here when body cams first came out. The community activists demanded that cops always wear body cams to record their police brutality. But complaints against police dropped considerably once the "community" realized that their own bad behavior was being recorded. Now there is a movement to ban body cams because recording people behaving badly is a violation of their rights.

That has not happened here yet but I am sure it will given the large number of people of a particular type (not a race and not legally a religion but sure act like one) who are caught on camera doing things that are unacceptable and/or forgivable. Like the woman who pulled a LARGE lump of hair out of a police woman's scalp when the police were arresting her for clearly illegal behaviour that was all caught on body cam and CCTV.

Naturally she claims she was being persecuted.

On the other side of that coin it is amazing how often police here have their body cams turned off when CCTV catches them clearly breaking the law. For providing both police and citizens equal evidence in court (some police assaults are massively provoked and they should be completely or partially exonerated on those cases) I am one of those who think the body cams should be switched on at all times. CCTV does not record audio so what may appear an unprovoked attack by police may be a normal human response. When, as recently, a cop is shown walking up to a person and dropping them on the ground, audio will probably be non existent even on body cam.

A book edited in 2024 saying, literally, "the Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighter, (codenamed 'Oscar' by the Allies), which was essentially a land-based variant of the Mitsubishi A6M 'Zero' used by the Japanese Navy".

WTF? In 2024?
Be glad you are into aircraft and not tanks. There is a recent book about "The mightiest tanks" in German that one hopes was written by an AI.

Body cams seem a good idea, let's finally see the facts instead of allegations from either side on how they are pure innocence unjustly persecuted.

Well, not today but the other weekend....

Pieces of my kitchen ceiling came down, old leak probably....
While hoovering up aforementioned mess, my hoover decided that "f🤬ck this, I'm outta here!"
After brushing up what the hoover decided that it was too good for, I put some munchies in the micro who decided "you know what, screw you, I'm doing what the hoover just did! 🖕🏻"
During the same weekend someone tried to buy tickets on booking.com using my card, thankfully my bank refused it but the card was cancelled and I had to get a new one!

I can't but laugh! 😆😂

💩 Jan. Fraudsters are the lowest of the low, just above pedophiles and rapist. Some people here fear the "damage" done by removing the time change even though there are parts of B.C. that don't deal with it and everyone there seems to function ok

I would like to see it here in Queensland, but year round. Being closer to the equator even on the longest day of the year in Brisbane the sun sets early so parents do not get time to play with their children and people do not get to enjoy the outdoors after they get home from work. Most jobs finish at 5 and many finish after 6. Below are the sunrise, sunset and total hours of daylight for Brisbane for Dec 22, our longest day.

Had a minor fender bender on Friday.
Took it in for an estimate today and within minutes the insurance company declared it a total loss. F*** them! I'm not giving it up. It's perfectly drivable. Just a bit of damage to the rear quarter panel and cracked tail light.
