Last night I sat down in the LaZboy chair, intending to watch a little recorded TV and hopefully fall asleep in the process.

We had been expecting T-storms all day but nothing but a light misty rain showed up. Then, through the vertical blinds of the window that faces East I saw what I thought was a lightning flash, the kind that lights up a distant cloud from the inside. But something looked rather odd. Lightning is just a flash. This was an extended glow that lasted at least a few seconds. I went to the back porch and looked East. There were no more flashes but a "Boom" came from the Northeast.

This morning I discovered that flash and boom was the latest Blue Origin New Glenn rocket exploding on its launch pad. Rather than the cloud being lit up internally, it was reflecting the fireball at SLC-36.

Time is a terrible thing to not waste.

I've been doing it successfully for about 4 years now.
I really need to mow the lawn and see if I can't get the new TV I just got back in its box so I can return it (too big for my tv stand)...instead, I caught up on unwatched episodes of Castle, and I need to start on Heartland, too.

Trying to clean up and organize the garage a bit better. Took one batch of stuff over to storage to get it out of the way. Should have a second one in the morning as well. Too much stuff has migrated to the house and not gone back when not needed for a while.
Need to have access to all three welders and the cold saw so I can make some handling dollies for the Stinson and the Fairchild. Putting the Fairchild nacelles on dollies with the firewalls down, I can halve the space they require. Need to do ones for the main landing gears as well.

Hired for my next position for the coming school year. 6th ( 2 classes) 7th (1 class) 8th (1 class) grade math dual language, plus a social studies class (I don't know the grade for this). First time ever in 14 years teaching I will have a position before August.

Building new arrows for my Recurve bow. Old ones were on the heavy side for hunting purposes, but have pretty much stopped bow hunting so wanted some lighter weight ones for target shooting. They will have a flatter trajectory out to a further distance. Originals would drop like a rock after 20-25 yards.

Good on ya... Had a co-worker, long years ago that agonized over what tv to buy when his old one quit. Took him over 16 months to finally settle on one.

Luckily, I've got a second tv, but its about 20 years old, so I'm not sure how long it will last. Gave me a bit of a push to get this done.

I still have an RCA 32" CRT television in my back bedroom which I purchased back in 1997 and still works perfectly.

Meanwhile, I've gone through several flat-screen LED tvs in my livingroom's entertainment center over the same period of time. The current one is in the process of dying, too.

That RCA will out-live us all...

Yesterday, Saturday, I went to one of the local Bun Bang Fai festivals. A local tradition of launching bamboo rockets to encourage rain.
Since it would still be "today" in New York and tomorrow here in Amnat Charoen, I feel it's in the spirit of the thread.

Busy by recycling old / Damaged pieces (bracelets, earrings, necklaces), making new ones and adding new pieces to my sea of beads! Getting prepared for Summer Sale.

Days i have no TTRPG Session, I'm busy with my growing collection of hand made accessories.

Woke up at 5:30. Body still used to the school schedule. I did have to be up for the online class I have to attend today and the next three days. Thinking maybe a nap might be in order sometime today.

Went back to work to recover from the weekend!!!! Spend all day Saturday at the archery range for a Traditional only archery shoot. Walked several miles and shot at least 100 arrows.
Had wanted to go on Sunday as well, but my sore hip had other plans.

We're in the middle of a little heat wave but having a little lull right now. Hoping my foot feels good enough that I can get a little yard work done.
