What are you doing today? (6 Viewers)

Betcha' you could slip a still in there and no one would be the wiser.
Hey if anyone asks, you could just say its for water purification.

Best wishes for her and you. Stay strong.
Ditto

we got the last 8 post assemblies knocked out to finish the cantilever. It is about 90% fabrication and 10% welding IMO.
Layout, design, redisign.
Oh look, Squirrel!
That happened today.
The 5 posts in line down the cantilever walkway are equidistant at 73.5" OC.

The two on that angle section are tabbed off to the side to get the bolts in. The bolting tabs are 1/2 x 1 hot rolled, to get the post away from the flashing kick. Also makes them hell for stout.

I had two that I had to tack in place, because the hole was determined by a Simpson DTT1Z Deck Tension Tie on the back side. It was too dark so here is another one on those solar panel combos.

They transmit that top bolt load into the joist, rather than RIP the rim board off.

The little hoop of .187 wall is the squirrel moment. I was thinking of some way to add a future small awning, and kicked around a few ideas. Came up with using the 187 from the stair posts, since the 1" I had scrapped does a decent enough job fitting inside it. I put two of the hoops on each of those 5 posts.
Now I can add a plant rail, or a little awning, or what have you without any drilling. Just hang it in the sockets.
I made them short so I could clean up the spatter and get paint in there, and belt sand the weld out of it.
It was getting too late to paint so I brought them in before they flash rusted after all that cleanup.

In the first image, the door on the top, if you don't mind me asking, What's the slab size of that door?

Trying to get my daughter through a mental health crisis. :(
Not there yet. Got a sobbing call at 5:45 this morning. Her little sister has been babysitting her the whole day. She's spending the weekend here so we can keep an eye on her. Don't know what we will do with her come monday. She's going to lose her job if she misses any more work. :(

I took the Fiat 130 Coupe to declass the Local Italian cars and Coffee at the Cafe Moto in Ferndale MI. A very classy bunch of cars for a random Saturday Morning in October. We even let a French car join in. It located in an Ex Aerospace Manufacturing Building, that made componants for many different Military Models from the 1940's thru the early 2000's when they just closed down.

Started by clearing the shop and unloading two free benches from a cabinet shop that is moving. They are sturdy and topped with maple veneer cabinet plywood with the hard conversion clear coating.
This one we will raise and use an out table. Saw is now positioned to RIP 16' boards and crosscut 8' sheets.

The other is in the other alcove of the L-shaped shop area.

We finished installing the post assemblies from the day before. The last two I had to drill from the top, as it is beyond the retaining walls and about 17' up. The others were easy peasy from the scaffold.
PXL_20261019_174115033.jpg

Then we got rained out.
I have 64' of top rail to fit and paint. We got the posts on and dialed in with the stringline and a burke bar and clamps.
I find it easier to just bend that .095 wall 1.5" then to shim and fiddle fart around, put a stringline up and have at it.

So we pivoted to the inside and trimmed out our main shower with safety bars and the fixtures and hand wand, etc.

Safety bar, TP holder, hand towel doohickey, register. I took a picture and sent to the darling wife, THEN I installed to Toto Washlet on sale at Costco ;)

Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

Sitting in Suvarnabhumi Airport waiting for the flight to Korea. Got another five hours. Then change planes and off to New York.

Enjoying the lovely weather here in Glasgow....
