Only the Young (Can Say) by Journey. This song was written in 1983 but was left off of Journey's "Frontiers" Album of that year and inexplicably sold to the band Scandal. They did an OK job but thankfully Journey performed it later.

Another 80's hit, this one from 1984. When Styx broke up that year Dennis DeYoung wrote "Desert Moon", his first single. A little long at 6 minutes but don't get bored during the first 2 minutes. His tempo and the message in the words pick up at 1:50. Many will relate to some of his lines. I did see this song listed here in 2022 in a list only of 40 Top Hits but did you really play 40 songs? You may have missed this one.

This selection was mentioned without a link back in 2008, from Finland, and most probably missed it. John Lennon released this somber tune in 1970 and if you listen past 1:00 minute you'll hear why this song was Banned in some U.S. stations in the early 70's. I like this one, it's pure Lennon.
