The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, by James Hornfischer.

Great book!

Working my way through Barrett Tilman's WWII series on Navy birds for at least the fourth or fifth time. Right now, I've finished the F4F book and am half-way through the SBD book.

Thread revival time.

I am currently reading the following two - highly recommended:

Currently reading 'Quartered Safe Out Here', by George MacDonald Fraser.

Outstanding read, covering the last months of the war in Burma from the Battle for Miektila to Rangoon by a young (just 19) Scottish private. He was fortunate enough to be assigned to a very experienced section, who happily took him in. Descriptions of battle, camaraderie and landscapes are excellent.
