"The Last Days of Patton".

A 1986, made for TV movie, with George C Scott reprising the role of Patton, and some other cast members from the original movie.
Although the visual quality wasn't 100% on the screening I watched (presumably due to 1980's video quality degradation), it was very well produced, and apparently a fairly accurate and authentic account, covering the General's time as Military Governor of Bavaria, up until his subsequent death following a traffic accident.
It's a long movie (over two hours), but I found it to be very interesting, well acted and produced, and very informative. I hadn't realised that General Patton had survived so many days after the traffic accident, and had "assumed" the collision was the cause of death on site.
Well worth watching.
 
Guns of Navarone - again. A bit of trivia the movie reminded me. The first time viewing was in a theater when released. I saw it with a friend who had returned from Army service with a German bride. We happened to sit just behind two sisters from Greece who had been high school classmates. The once in a lifetime experience was having German instantly translated as well as Greek. At one point, the Greek sisters exclaimed, "Oh, we can't say that. It is a very dirty word."

12 O'Clock high again. I still think Dean Jagger was the star.
