Was going to put some decals on my '219 today and the final ones '109 and '190, but I think that I'll wait until tomorrow, when I don't have work to think about...
Will also try to get my sorry *rse in gear and get some paint on my BOAC Mosquito!

well, I've resumed work on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. I've sprayed the landing area with a gloss black because I don't have a color that's close enough to asphault. that's lighter than black or darker than gray. hopefully it'll look decent once the decls are applied.

oh, thanks, Wayne. but um....

RED ALERT

I tried one decal, and the damn thing disintegrated. so I have no clue what to do now....

Ok Rob select a small decal and coat it with clear gloss..let it dry a day or two and then cut it out and carefully apply it....if this work s keep going...If it doesn't work then you're in big friggin trouble man...

If it does work cut the larger decals into smaller sections and apply them one section at a time getting them all lined up right as you go...good luck!

thanks a lot, man. I'll take yer advice. but I'm gonna take a lil break from the aircraft carrier and work on the P-47 and BF-109.

I'v got the P-47 fully assembled except for the canopy. (damn that was fast!) but I think ima let the glue dry and cure before airbrushing the yellow to the belly. (yellow belly LOL)

I actually got some work done on both Hurricane and Skyhawk over the last few days, the Skyhawk looks a bit of a mess so here's some pics of the Hurri

I dry-fitted the canopy at the same time, and am very glad I bought my Dremel-wannabe, cos the damn thing is nowhere near fitting without some major surgery...

Ace Treb and Bomb! Bomb, did you hand paint the outlines for your camo? I'm taking that guess because if you used tape it would be a tight line unless you sanded it down. I have a similar pattern on my 1/48 P40 Flying Tiger and said F masking tape and hand painted the camo, rather effective, esp on 1/72 if you want to make it faster. But some people can prepare for hours and dont mind making all the cut out masks

Maglar, I hand-painted the camo, following the paint guide for about 85% of the outline, with the balance being a bit of artistic license. I'm pretty pleased with the way the pattern turned out, but I will most likely mask and use an airbrush next time round as the green in particular shows up horrible brush strokes from the large brush I used to apply the basic shapes...
