Interesting that you attach the cowl after painting - I would be worried about glue damaging the paintwork.

It has a very tight push fit, Evan. I did spray the camo with the cowl pushed on and I'll be able to add glue along the inside lip

Not sure why the black under coat is so dark. This was before I gloss coated it
