Looking at the shadow of the plane in the first pic in post #4, it does not show anything however, in the very first pic there is something between the left engine and the fuselage.

Ditto in the second photo, although you only see the root of it.

Indeed, so much so that you can appreciate just how ugly they are in every shot! From some angles that XB-21 with the pointed nose looks like a Ventura on steroids.
