  • Thanks so much, I posted in the thread but he is a little down but he asked if we could send him envelopes and gum. He doesn't have TV but they have a wonderful gym that he could take advantage. Mental and physical health go hand and hand.
    You're welcome. ;)
It sounds like your little one is quite ready to celebrate her birthday and enjoy it throroughly - thank God!
I'm glad to hear that she's fast on the way to feeling great again. :thumbleft:
Heh. I've got dyslexia (it ain't fun, trust me), but never got promoted. Maybe if I'd told them about the voices in my head...?
Reckon its not far from the truth. I say to get promoted I would need to be gay, have dyslexia, be a pre op trannie and a personality disorder. No wonder our countries are in the ****.
Unbelievable...well, perhaps not. We are not allowed to celebrate Christmas in some primary schools as the majority of kids are muslim. Who's f'ing country is it anyway?. The white, straight chap with a job is a minority and always have to give way....its gone too far and there will be a backlash even in peaceful tolerant Britain.
There are places here where folks are aware of what happened in the past that brought us to where we are, but they're usually small and isolated groups, history geeks and such. Sadly, a good portion of holidays are going that way. Christmas, Thanksgiving, are all about sales and what we can get on sale (and what we can get others to get for us), July 4th is still understood as the birth of the USofA, but is mostly about BBQ's and fireworks, and less about remembering those who made it possible. Heck, even Easter is now all about candy and new clothes.
The end of WW1, 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 1918. With all the 11's this year it was a bit special.
Needless to say the Germans don't bother and have some 'peoplesday' later in November.
Plymouth is a military town and we're prould of the Marines and Navy in particular. If you want a punch on the nose just 'dis' the armed forces in one of the pubs on a Saturday night.
Maybe The USA is not as aware of WW1 but, surely people must know about WW2.....
    John
Hi mate, Unbelievable that people can be so unaware isn't it. Mind you a certain European country doesn't acknowledge 11/11/18 either ...
Thanks for checking on me RA, but I'm not near Waxahachie. Even though I live in Garland, I'm working about 30 miles north of Tyler. BTW, what the heck are you doing up at 3:30 in the morning? Or is that just the time on the server and not our time? I hope your well. Be safe.
That made me laugh. I'm on a few lists I'm sure. What the hell, life is too short not to be lol
Ah, the noble art of fart lighting. Who said that the Americans and British haven't got anything in common these days. Our continental 'friends' do not share our cultural appreciation of wind.
    Cheers John
Heh. That "confused" thing? Its called "Life". :evil4: Just wanted to check and make sure there wasn't something else goin on! Ya know, I never claim to have answers...but I have two ears (er....eyes), if you ever need to vent.
Quick note. Edited your post in the Swiss Air 111 flight because that was a spammer you said hi to. Always looks at the siggy as well as the posts for indications of spam. It had a shopping link in the siggy.
