Nice progress Don! Flat or no, I'd think the Eduard bomb day doors would be an improvement over the kit parts?

As Terry pointed out B-17G 43-37516 had a staggered waist. Starting with B-17G-50-BO 42-102379, B-17G-50-VE (Vega) 44-8101, and Douglas built B-17G-25-DL 42-37989 the staggered waist windows were implemented. The Production Cheyenne tail did not start until 80-BO 43-38473, 55-VE 44-8287, and 25-DL 42-37989. As Tondalayo is a Boeing built B-17G-65-BO it is prime for staggered waist but not for Cheyenne tail, except for the fact that many planes were field modified or sent to United Air Lines Modification center in Cheyenne Wyoming. I don't know if this was the case with Tondalayo. Given it was that late in the war, it would make sense that she was modified with the tail. Another thing about the kit that no one seems to have noted is that the waist windows have blast deflectors not used on the G. they were on the E and F because of the open windows but on the G the windows are permanently closed and the blast deflector was not needed any longer.

Ok so I got the windows cut out and patched. The detail set of the cockpit only comes with 4 O2 bottles, the set it's self has racks for 6, though they call out only using the 4. The detail information I have on the B-17G calls for the 6 O2 bottles behind the pilot and co. So anyway I made a mold and cast a new set to fill in the remainder.

Thank you all for the great interest and commits, I really do appreciate them especially seeing the incredible work o all do compared to mine. I really do stand in ah of the of your builds. Anyway I got the molds for the O2 bottles done. I should have done it a a two part mold, it ended up that way in the long run anyway, Here are the results. The last shot, the grey is the original (two bottles off and the tan is mine.

Nice work done. One of these days I'm going to get the stuff to do resin casting my self

I get my stuff at Hobby Lobby. Get a 40% off coupon and buy the Armalite sets. A set of old Legos to make molds in. A 3D printer would be nice.

Here are some updates, mounted the O2 bottles and got some yellow paint on then, still need to painting the attaching bands on them. I had painted the canvas insulation a green drab and then dry brushed OD over the top, not sure it worked as well but when it gets all buttoned up you won't see any of it. What a comfort. You can see the bomb doors along side the cockpit sidewalls
