I am going to love watching this one given that you gave me one those to kick start me getting back into the hobby a couple of years ago.

Ok all you Luftwaffe fans out there, 40/41, interior on a He 111 should be RLM 02 or 66?

RLM 66 in the cockpit area, with RLM 02 elsewhere.
Have a look at the posts from Guttorm (Ju-88A1) I mentioned earlier, and this pic from Guttorm.
The bomb cells were, from memory, and without checking the rest of my pics, also RLM 66, although the remainder of the bomb bay area was in RLM 02.

Terry I'm not sure fully but the RLM66 appeared in He-111 cockpits at the late 1941. Let's say at the mid of the year. Don asked about the time at the turn of the 1940/41. By the time the RLM66 was introduced for panting areas seen by the glass, the RLM02 was in usage mostly, But it wasn't the rule and it could have been another one too.

I agree my friend. However, from memory, the Gardermoen machine was restored to how it had looked, after being recovered from a lake, where it sank in 1940, and I have seen 1940 to early 1941 period pics, where the cockpit tone certainly suggests the darker colour, rather than RLM 02.
Likewise, the JU-88 that Guttorm is involved with, is also mainly in the darker grey in the cockpit, although period pics of, for example, the Do-17 are definitely in RLM 02.

That's true the RLM66 appeared much earlier than it was ordered officially by the RLM. So the RLM66 is possible as well. The Gardermoen He 111 is of the P varsion and was found in 1976. She was shot down on the 25 (26?) April 1940. The crew took part in the Norwegian invasion and made a forced landing in deep snow near Digervarden.

I decided on the H4 with bomb bays open so I have a couple of after market sets. the exhaust stacks are wrong for the H4-H6 so I got a quick boost exhaust and an Eduard bomb bay set

Good stuff Don. I hadn't realised there was a bomb bay set for the He-111 - think i might get one, as it'll save at least one part of the required scratch-building for the interior when I come to build mine.

Been in an anti modeling funk. not getting much enjoyment at the work bench and also waiting for stuff to come in. But I have gotten a little on the weapons bay done. Did I mention I hate PE.
