Some nice progress there Gerry. Viewing on my phone right now so can't really see the antennas your talking about. Maybe you refer to the ones on the bottom of the rear fuselage. Those would be for landing approach assistance.

Hello my fellow modelers:

This is the advance performed so far.

First, the wings sub assemblies were glued to the fuselage as can be appreciated in the following images.

It is relevant to inform that after quite some dry fitting intents to join the wings to the fuselage, it was found that the joints were acceptable enough in order to apply quite a small amount of glue in the upper and lower wing, after confirming that the dihedral was correct.....

Also after manipulating the kite with the aluminum and black color, reminded me of a 1/72 Heinkel 70 that my father and me constructed around the mesozoic era... (at least it's how it feels like now)....

I still remember the smell of the only glue that you can find and sold in Mexico City (it was called the Lodela brand clear glue, quite similar to the Tamiya orange Cement and the smell was quite unique)....



Then the detailing of these joints were sanded, and sanded....



Then the rest of the details on the engine cowlings were applied in order to continue with the final paint works.... (and some further rescribing works will also be applied eventually.....


Also the lower fuselage antennas were applied after consulting several web photos..... and after a good look in the photo, some of the little supports seems to have moved after glueing them.... damn little buggers.....


And before the paint works, also the glazed cockpit received some more details.... first the windows received a double liquid masking.

Guess that the copper wire will nicely emulate the handle when the pilot lifted its seat in order to view better forward while landing.....

Hope that this week I can proceed with the final paint works. I still have to find a place the light switch (that more likely will be located between the two SC-1,000 Kgs bombs).

Hello my fellow modelers:

Here's the week update, just as the paint works began and some doubts emerged as these works are currently under advance.

Thank God that in this website, there are quite a bunch of connoisseurs about a lot of subjects. You can find wisdom and help here .

First, the advance.

It was decided that the base colours will be applied with enamel colors. I found that the Revell RLM 70 (Revell 40) and the 71 (Revell 39) were the base colours that were going to be applied. This decision was based on the fact that in a later phase more color will be applied (and removed) in the entirety of the fuselage.

In the belly the enamel Model Master 65 was applied......

Then in the Upper surfaces the RLM 70 was applied.... and once dry (it was noticed that amazingly the paint dried quite quickly, guess it was the new thinner)..... and the masking works were begun to receive the RLM 71.....


Then the RLM 71 paint works after the masking works.....


And finally how the kite looks as today......


and the starboard view......


The doubt I've been dealing with (and that currently is still in my head), is the RLM colour that more likely was applied on the upper surfaces on this kite. I already reviewed this colour with the Photpaint in order to research this particular paint and it looks like a clear grey....


This due that in several websites the applied grey color suggests that maybe this colour is probably the RLM 65, 77 or a light 78 (previous to the colour applied on the late night fighters ......

Its crystal clear the the applied dark blotches were RLM 22 (7124.22) that was a removable night camouflage.

And as Crimea commented earlier, the prop spinner and the inside of the J letter will be applied with red.
