Thanks a mill George, Went up to Austin with my son Ervin to visit with Dale over the weekend. Nice visit and I am be falling into a new job up there as well. I have a friend, Kevin, whom just got a job as a manager at Boxx Technologies. They are a professional workstation company and Kevin and I were co workers at Compaq supporting the same type machines. Looks like I have an interview coming up this week or next.

Back to the old Su. I finished the forward fuselage and main gear well. I got in the Brena Clamps from Amazon for $16.77 including tax. I am a Prime customer so the shipping was free. I'll have to get maybe one more set. Came with three clamps and a jig.

Do love those clamps and have been toying with the idea of getting me a set. Like the modelling Don, doing a good job mate and good luck with the job interview, hope it all comes right for you.
 
Well we are moving along here. Getting fuselage together. This kit suffers from some of the same issue that their RA-5C suffered from. It is large and little to internal structure for the fuselage to hold together with. This is not as bad as the RA-5C but it is not good. The fuselage half's are wide and the wing box/main gear well and the engine exhaust are the structure it has. this makes the alignment very difficult. I glued the bottom first one end then the other and worked my way to the center. This left part of the seam higher then the other. I then worked the top. When trying to clamp the top the seam rose up instead of going together as it should have. I hd to pull the clamps and press it with my hands. I tried to take it slow but no sure I got what I was hoping for. It will be file time when I get after it again.

Beginning to wonder if it will make the finish mark but pressing on just the same. I has to run a putty line down the top and bottom seem and there are a few other issue. cleaning up is the biggest issue with it now. The wings swing now and I plan on having flaps and slats up so they will. The normal position for the aircraft on the ground is in full sweep.

The wing shoulder attachment is an issue as it is a hair to far from the fuselage attachment point. I may use thin card stock to fix the lower fuselage mate.

I was able to pick up a set of decals as I could not find any before and I am not overly fond of the Trumpeter set.

Good progress so far Don.
It's just occurred to me that, in 1/48th scale, this must be a quite large model, as I recently gave a 1/72nd scale kit example to a friend, and even that was a fair size.

It's about the same size as the F-111A is, about 50cm long with an extended wing of about 38cm, or 21 inches by 15 1/2 inches. About as large as a B-25 give or take. It takes up a fair share of shelf.
