1/72 Academy P40-E Aleutian Tiger

Hi all,

Happy to say I have finished one in the midst of my inactivity at the bench. Standard OOB - panels filled in with lead pencil, light oil panel highlights, and some pastel work. Nothing too glamorous. If you were wondering.. Academy continues to support the rumors and claims of their crap decals. None of them would stick without excessive microset and even needed to use a diluted PVA mix for some of the larger ones. Besides that the kit came together like a dream.

Turned out real nice.
Claire Chennault's son was the CO of that outfit. I have the same Academy kit that I have wanted to do for a while but the decals have scared me off. Somewhere I have the tiger decals from the old 1/48 P-40E so maybe I can go that route with a AMT/Etrl kit I have in the stash when the P-40 bug bites me again
