thanks for the very kind words chaps.
I've been pressing on.
Cockpit painted.
Nose area painted.
Engine painted, first coat anyway.
Do have the elevators in place as well.
Rudder and ailerons shaped.
More pics later....
Thanks guys.
I have been working on the belly of this bugger, these old kits have fit issues.
A lot of filing, sanding and a bit of shimming, all because it will be a bit upside down in front of the Mk XIV.
Also I did find a pair of Luft pilots so I am using and abusing one of them.
He never bailed out so I am assuming he was unable.
Easy peasy,
cut the nose off, at panel line for cone.
cut and file and sand back 1.72mm.
stick it all back together, a little blending with file and sanding,
and Bob's yer uncle!!!! As they say in the UK and over here in Oz. See.......!
Got most of everything sanded to paint.
Canopy is on, centre section will have been jetisoned.
And the birds have been active today's entertainment.
Now to paint the pilot........
You could be right. Found these, one gun cam and can make out both mid and rear sections gone.
And a back-up print, climbing out with both sections missing.
A third photo looks like it can be jettisoned.
So it's time to crack on with saw, scalpel and sanding sticks!!!!!
Again. Thanks for the heads up!
